This vintage settee is a perfect example of the transition of the center of the art world from Paris to New York that occurred in the 40's. Like so many pieces of the time, the slightly curved shape and plush velvet offer a romantic escape from the pulls of urban living. The smaller footprint of the piece makes it easily able to be called home in a variety of spaces.
